We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Kitty Dukakis. A tireless advocate and courageous voice for mental health, Kitty changed countless lives by sharing her personal experiences with addiction and depression at a time when few would. Her willingness to speak openly helped break down stigma and inspired hope in others navigating similar paths. We were honored when she volunteered to be part of McLean’s Deconstructing Stigma campaign—furthering her lifelong commitment to changing how the world sees mental illness. Kitty’s legacy is one of strength, compassion, and unrelenting advocacy. Her voice helped pave the way for greater understanding, and her impact will be felt for generations to come.
