Charli XCX lit up Times Square with the viral neon green aesthetic featured on her recently released album "brat", making an unforgettable entrance through the TSX Broadway Stage doors (engineered by us!). The free outdoor #liveevent, in partnership with H&M, celebrated their new Holiday Collection, with Charli’s performance broadcast across #LED screens, creating a dazzling visual backdrop for the crowds below. She joined the ranks of other top artists like Post Malone, Jungkook, and Shakira, who have surprised audiences on the 18,000-square-foot LED screen system suspended 30 feet above the streets of #NYC.? ? Behind the scenes, our entertainment team worked with BNW Rigging to engineer the tilted screen backdrop and the lighting positioned behind the performer. The screen was mounted on a ModTruss Inc. frame hinged at the bottom and supported by chain hoists at the top, enabling it to tilt. Installed behind the TSX LED stage doors, the screen was designed to extend through the doors during the show and retract afterward, allowing the doors to operate without interference.?

Coastal engineer, Benjamin Komita, EIT, is making waves in the MDPI Journal of Marine Science and Engineering! His paper, "Natural and Engineered Ocean Inflow Projects to Improve Water Quality Through Increased Exchange," dives into methods for tackling declining water quality in estuaries and lagoons worldwide. Benjamin and his co-authors explore innovative ways to enhance #water quality by increasing ocean–estuary exchanges, a promising solution to address eutrophication and #ecosystem degradation caused by nutrient overloads, sediment, and reduced oxygen levels. The review highlights successes from projects across countries like Australia, The Netherlands, Denmark, and the U.S., showing how improved water circulation can boost nutrient reduction, enhance dissolved oxygen levels, and support healthier ecosystems. Another #construction milestone has been achieved at the 470-490 Kent complex in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn! This three-tower development, located along the historic East River waterfront, continues to make significant progress. With the recent topping out, the 470 Kent Avenue building joins the other mixed-use #residential buildings 480-484 Kent Avenue and 490 Kent Avenue. ? Our team has been delivering comprehensive engineering solutions across disciplines, including site/civil, geotechnical, marine, surveying, and excavation support services. The project scope has encompassed site planning, grading and utility layouts, sediment and erosion control, permitting, builders pavement designs, and stormwater management systems. Stay tuned for further updates as we continue making progress on the transformation of this #waterfront site.?

Located on Manhattan's Upper West Side, NYC Department of Parks & Recreation's Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument, which pays tribute to those who served in the American Civil War, is undergoing a thoughtful #restoration. Our Civil, Geotechnical, and Survey teams are helping to preserve the historical #landmark and its surrounding plaza’s integrity for future generations. The project involves meticulous attention to grading, drainage design, and site erosion mitigation to ensure the plaza remains a lasting, resilient space of honor. By updating the pathways and plaza with modern design standards, we are doing our part to uphold a piece of #NYC history, supporting NYC Park's mission to safeguard spaces that honor veterans’ legacies.?

Upcoming Opening of the Davis Center at Harlem Meer ??? Replacing the original 1966 Lasker Pool and Rink, the Central Park Conservancy's reimagined Davis Center represents a $160 million investment in #community recreation and access to nature. Seamlessly integrated into the surrounding landscape, the Davis Center features a full-scale ice rink, an additional skating area on the Meer, a larger-than-Olympic-size pool, and a new outdoor spray pad.? ? Our engineers played an important role in the early stages of this #transformation. They developed the demolition plans for the original facility, including the strategic capping of utilities and initial soil erosion control to ensure a safe and environmentally responsible process.?? ? To make the facility accessible year-round, our entertainment team also designed a unique scaffold system inside the pool area. This #adaptable system provides a flat surface for ice in the winter and can be covered with synthetic grass in the spring and fall, creating additional recreational space for the community. - - Rendering courtesy Susan T.
