关于我们
McLane?Research Laboratories manufactures?time series,?in situ samplers and profilers for worldwide scientific research. Flotation products are also available. User-programmable water samplers include the Phytoplankton Sampler for collecting filtered samples onto 47mm filters, Remote Access Samplers for collecting 48 water samples, WTS-LV high volume, single event pumps that collect suspended and dissolved particulate samples onto a 142mm membrane filter, and Sediment Traps that collect oceanic particle fluxes. Profiling vehicles such as the McLane Moored Profiler (MMP), Ice Tethered Profiler (ITP) and Prawler travel along a fixed mooring wire carrying sensors that collect data from the deep ocean to the top 500m to the surface. McLane also builds in situ laboratory platforms?for advanced phytoplankton image classification and DNA analysis. These instruments include the Imaging FlowCytobot (IFCB) and Environmental Sampler Processor (ESP).

I haven't updated my Linkedin in a bit so here we go! After graduating from FIU in December, I began working in the FIU Water-Omics lab as a full time research assistant/technician. We are specifically looking at at harmful algal blooms, microbial genomics, toxin quantitation and flow cytometry! I recently went to training at McLane labs in Falmouth MA where I was trained on the Image Flow CytoBot (IFCB) instrument. This equipment will allow for autonomous in-situ algae imaging of Biscayne Bay Florida! There is a lot of work to do before then however. We will be training a random forest Matlab program that can identify and quantify our species of interest from thousands of images on any given sampling day. My trip was awesome and I even went to talk at WHOI! Thank you to FIU Water-Omics, McLane Laboratories, and Woods Hole Oceanographic for making it possible. Thanks VRUTI NAIK! We're always excited to learn more about how researchers are using our samplers. Glad to hear how the WTS-LV reduced your workload for collecting large amounts of water sample and then filtering it to obtain samples for DNA isolation.
Three years ago I got an opportunity to operate this Large Volume Water Transfer System by McLane Research Laboratories, Inc. It is a single-event sampler ideally used to collect suspended and dissolved particulate samples in situ on a 142 mm membrane filter. However, our team used it to obtain samples for DNA isolation. It did help us in reducing our laborious work of collecting large amounts of water sample and then filtering it in the lab which took up much of our time. The only limitation was that we couldn't operate it at very low depths. Nevertheless, we did get enough samples filtered for our DNA isolation from shallow depths. Overall it proved to be a valuable technical aid for us.

Attending #OSM24 ? Come to?R06-R07, Second Floor, TODAY from 12:45 - 1:45 CST?as McLane participates in a Town Hall panel.? Hear about CEO Yuki Honjo’s experiences with collaborative partnerships transitioning technology from lab to market. Also TODAY from 12:45 - 1:45 CST, early career scientists and students can come interact with scientists/industry/government professionals including our GM Jon Mogul and discuss careers in oceanography from a non-academic career path. If you miss these Town Halls, Booth 632 will feature our NEW eDNA sampler #RoCSI and underwater microscope #IFCB.?

https://lnkd.in/ep3xFSZk Successfully collecting 18,000 images in 72 hours, Plymouth Marine Lab, UK, tested our #ImagingFlowCytobot (IFCB) and obtained spectacular microscopic plankton images of <10 μm to 150 μm (comparable to the diameter of a human hair). In spring, this IFCB will collect images in the English Channel to support the science of plankton researchers worldwide.?
