Concrete & mason sand being dewatered before stockpiling. Adding a dewatering screen in the last leg provides a drip-free, product which results in less segregation in stockpiles… keeping the product gradation consistent and site conditions dryer. When kitted out with spray bars, dewatering screens also provide a last opportunity to wash out a small fraction of any lingering, unwanted fines in the sand. #mclanahan

Rotary Trommels possess features which make it the ideal choice in hydrovac (hydro-excavating) soils and concrete washout recycling applications, in my humble opinion. Trommels are very effective at handling surges of water (typical with hydrovac truck waste) through their large open screening area, internal flight design and spray bar design. Their robust construction makes them effective at handling impact of larger rocks and their tunnel design is effective at removing elongated rogue contaminants, without risk of hook-up. Greater retention time and tumbling action, provides better opportunity for coarse/fines separation as well as providing a better rinse wash. (Above comparisons being drawn against dewatering screens). Trommels allow hydrovac soils and concrete washout to be processed faster and more efficiently. Each October, we don pink hard hats to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month and as a way to honor breast cancer survivors, remember those who have lost the battle and raise awareness about what we can do to prevent this disease. We also raise money to support breast cancer research, with the proceeds of the sale of these pink hard hats going to a breast cancer charity.

We had a great day for our Open Day in the United Kingdom yesterday! Attendees were able to tour the McLanahan equipment at Goonvean Aggregates, which includes an UltraWASH Modular Wash Plant, UltraSAND Plant and 10m EcoCYCLE High-Rate Thickener for processing a range of secondary granite-based scalpings. Our team also led a few educational sessions on the topics of C&D recycling and tailings and water management.
