Urgent Call to Action - I am asking for your help! This is help for McDowell County near Asheville. In Critical Need… We have seen the devastation throughout Western North Carolina. We are issuing a much-needed Call to Action on behalf of our neighbors in McDowell County. The McDowell County Chamber of Commerce has reached out to the Lake Norman Chamber for urgent assistance, and now is our opportunity to step up and support a community in critical need. The McDowell County water treatment plant is expected to lose power within the next 24 hours, and local stores have already been depleted of bottled drinking water. We are coordinating an immediate effort to collect and deliver essential supplies to Marion, NC, beginning as soon as tomorrow morning. The following items are in high demand: * Cases or jugs of water * Diapers * Baby formula and baby supplies * MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) * Protein bars * Non-perishable food items * We will be collecting donations at Payroll Plus HCM, located at 19300 Statesville Road, Cornelius, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sunday (Tomorrow), and during normal business hours on Monday and Tuesday. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. Supplies will be promptly transported to the Universal Advanced Manufacturing Center, located at 634 College Drive, Marion, NC 28752, a facility set up by the McDowell County Chamber of Commerce and the McDowell County Emergency Operations Center. They will handle the distribution to those in need. This is a dire situation for the people of McDowell County, and your generosity and support will make a tremendous difference. Thank you for your swift action and kindness during this time of need.
