Earlier this year, McGinnis attorney Austin Jones prevailed on an appeal of the trial court’s denial of Coryell County’s plea to the jurisdiction asserting governmental immunity in a case involving claims against the County for declaratory judgment and inverse condemnation. In an opinion issued in January 2024, the Waco Court of Appeals reversed the trial court’s ruling and rendered judgment in favor of the County.
