If you're asking me (which you are) if the Inclusive Communications Conference 2024 in OKC was successful, informative, and inspiring . . . I would say yes! Sharing ideas about how to discover and honor each person's unique voice is my idea of a good time. My breakout session titled The Age of Inclusion encouraged thoughtful conversations about our young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their futures. How will a young person reach their goals for their vision of a good life without the tools to communicate their hopes and dreams? ?? Inclusive communication takes time and patience, something we are all a little short on. But really, how can you honor and support me if you don't even know me? The Inclusive Communications Conference 2024 was hosted by Beyond the Spectrum OK, the Autism Foundation of Oklahoma, and the Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma and sponsored by Tinker Federal Credit Union, the Developmental Disabilities Council of Oklahoma, and the Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma at no cost to attendees.
