Our Interior Design Team shared their insights into the top trends of 2025. From creating spaces that foster emotional connections to embracing bold colors and flexible layouts, here are some of the key trends shaping the built environment: Personalized, Emotional Connections A well-designed space does more than look good—it feels good. Bold palettes, innovative artwork, and biophilic design help create emotional connections that make a space truly inviting. With hybrid and remote work on the rise, intentional design choices can foster comfort and engagement. ? Modular and Multi-Purpose Spaces Adaptability is key. Workspaces are becoming more dynamic, featuring flexible layouts that can shift to accommodate different team sizes, work modes, and tasks—ensuring functionality without sacrificing style. ? Bold, Saturated Colors? Experts predict a rise in daring, rich tones such as chocolate browns, crimson reds, and earthy greens. This marks a significant departure from the pastels and bright colors that have dominated in recent years. Notably,?Pantone?has chosen Mocha Mousse, a warm, rich brown hue, as its Color of the Year. #designtrends #interiordesign #architecture

Construction on Phase 2 of the Carnegie Library of Homestead is nearing completion, and we couldn’t be more excited to share the progress! The images below highlight the incredible transformation of the two large Community Rooms. In the library’s 125-year history, the rooms served as billiards and shuffleboard rooms for the Athletic Center and, in the late 1940s, as a temporary home for the US Steel Homestead Works engineering department.?Our work focused on carefully removing those outdated elements to reveal the room’s original grandeur while integrating modern upgrades like new lighting, air conditioning, electrical systems, and restored finishes. ? These revitalized multi-purpose spaces will serve the library and community for large-group community meetings, workshops and programs, social?rentals, and music hall intermission concessions, blending its rich history with a new purpose for the future. ? Phase 2 also included the renovation of the book stacks area of the library. Renovations included raising the height of the ceiling, adding dual-purpose “Sensory Friendly?Rooms” and installing new lighting, electrical, air conditioning, and finishes. Public Restrooms and Archives Storage area were also updated. ? A huge thanks to Carol Shrieve and the team at the Carnegie Library of Homestead, Robert Russ, James P. Dambrogio, Jr., Jacqueline Hammond, and the entire MCF project team for making this transformation happen!?Also, special thanks to CJL Engineering, Brace Engineering, Inc., Elk Air Conditioning & Heating, Allegheny Construction Group, and Commonwealth Consulting Partners. ? #HistoricPreservation #CommunitySpaces #CarnegieLibraryofHomestead #MCFArchitecture #PittsburghLandmark

We are grateful to have collaborated with such talented partners who brought this vision to life. We’re thrilled to see the Penn Highlands State College campus making a meaningful impact in the State College community!
Located in State College, PA (any Penn State Nittany Lions fans out there?!) Penn Highlands State College is a $70 million state-of-the-art campus that opened this past July featuring 18 private inpatient care rooms, a medical imaging department and an oncology suite. It also plans to seek accreditation to become a level 4 trauma center. Luminaires from Gotham Lighting, Lithonia Lighting, and MARK Architectural Lighting are showcased throughout the facility, along with controls from nLight?, providing a soothing environment for patients to assist in their well-being and recovery. The project was in collaboration with LaFace & McGovern Associates, Inc., MCF Architecture, CORE Architects, and Alexander Building Construction. Photography was shot by Ed Massery. Stay up to date on this project and all of the #BeautifulSpaces on the inspiration gallery! https://okt.to/RykXdU #AcuityBrands #LightingDesign #ArchitecturalLighting #IlluminatedSpaces
