Introducing the newly renovated space at the South Hills Interfaith Movement (SHIM)! Designed to benefit the South Hills community and all who utilize the space, the renovation includes a consolidated staff area, along with enhancements to the food pantry and clothing donation area. The space features a 350-square-foot addition with an accessible entrance and an elevator, addressing accessibility needs for both volunteers and visitors. The addition includes a community flex room, two private consulting rooms, and a conference room. Additional upgrades consist of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing improvements, as well as a brighter lobby with new lighting and a welcoming reception area. We are proud to have helped create a space that enhances both functionality and inclusivity for this vital community resource! “You come into our location now and the space is much brighter and much more welcoming to people, all of those kinds of things that make that first impression on people who are stepping up to get help. We are delighted to celebrate the new Christ the Teacher Academic Hall and Pope St. Paul VI Conference Center at Franciscan University of Steubenville! Several members of our project team were on site for the ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 21st. “The constant growth of the on-campus student population made it necessary for Franciscan to expand academic spaces for student instruction while, at the same time, add space for medium-scale campus events to take pressure off Finnegan Fieldhouse. Those two needs were fused together to make this one new facility,” said Benjamin T. Wetmore, vice president of MCF Architecture, which has designed buildings for Franciscan University over the past 28 years.
