The State Department has rolled back the “X” gender marker option for passports, forcing nonbinary, intersex, and trans people to choose “M” or “F.” This change has real impacts on identity, dignity, and global mobility. It’s more than just a checkbox. It’s a signal that recognition and rights for gender diversity are under attack. If this option truly didn’t matter, why undo it? Read more about the policy shift and what it means for business, travel, and inclusion:

?? Thinking About Traveling? Read This First. If you or your employees have international travel plans, new American Immigration Lawyers Association updates highlight risks you need to know about: ?? Advance Parole Holders: If you had past unlawful presence, reentry could be a problem. CBP guidance is unclear—travel could be risky. ?? Colombian Nationals: If you have or had a diplomatic visa, expect extra scrutiny at the border. ?? Uniting for Ukraine: This program is now on hold. Pending cases are stuck in limbo. ?? Notice to Appear (NTA) Recipients: If you have an open immigration court case, leaving the U.S. could be a huge risk. ?? For Employers: If your team includes foreign nationals, make sure they check with an immigration attorney before traveling. A simple trip could turn into a major issue. These policies are shifting fast—we’re keeping an eye on updates and will share more as they come. #Immigration #TravelWarnings #GlobalMobility

DEI is under attack. The second Trump administration is moving to eliminate programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. Some claim these efforts are unnecessary. The truth? They make workplaces stronger, fairer, and more competitive. We are a woman-owned, immigrant-led firm that values diverse perspectives. Equity in the workplace isn’t a trend—it’s essential. Policies that support fair pay, accessibility, and opportunity create better workplaces for everyone. Read our latest Immigration Revelation article on why DEI still matters! This fight isn’t over. We’re standing firm (see what we did there? ?? ). Are you?

DEI Isn’t the Problem—Equity Makes Workplaces Stronger ?? There’s been a lot of debate recently about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the workplace. Some have questioned its importance, but the truth is clear: workplaces that prioritize equity are better equipped to foster innovation, collaboration, and meaningful progress. At our firm, DEI is part of who we are. Our firm started small—one attorney working from a Lakeview apartment—and has grown into a woman-owned, immigrant-led team committed to creating opportunities for everyone. Many of us are immigrants or the children of immigrants, and those experiences inform how we work together and serve our clients. We’ve built a team where diverse perspectives are valued and where people feel supported to contribute their best. Equity isn’t optional—it’s essential to building stronger workplaces and communities. The work isn’t always easy, but it’s worth doing. We’ll keep advocating for equity in everything we do, because creating space for everyone benefits us all. https://lnkd.in/gK4wwFu6

The headlines are alarming. Mass deportations. Widespread ICE raids. Families are living in fear, misinformation is everywhere, and communities are desperate for answers. That’s why our firm’s attorney, Katherine Del Rosario (Rivera), sat down with Joy Reid on MSNBC to set the record straight—who’s being targeted, what rights people still have, and what’s coming next. For Katherine, this fight isn’t just professional—it’s personal. Born to immigrant parents who were activists in the anti-Marcos movement, she grew up understanding the power of people coming together to demand change. She witnessed it firsthand while living in Cairo during the Egyptian Revolution, and she carried that experience into years of community organizing and policy work in Chicago. Long before she became an attorney, she was already standing up for immigrant families, working as a DOJ Accredited Representative and later co-founding the Alliance for Immigrant Neighbors (AIN) to provide free legal help to low-income families in the Chicagoland suburbs. Katherine brings all of this with her into every case, every consultation, and every conversation—because for our clients, this isn’t just a debate. It’s their lives.
