MCCOY champions the positive development of youth through community and systems change. Our vision is that every young person has equitable opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive. As an intermediary, we accomplish our mission through our four critical roles: ADVOCATE: working with youth to help them talk about issues that matter to them and speaking out on behalf of youth about youth issues. RESOURCE: providing data, information, strategic knowledge and promising success strategies. CAPACITY BUILDER: showing those who work with youth how to use their skills to become more competent and effective. CONNECTOR: assembling various groups in our community that play key roles in a youth's success. Working in these roles MCCOY creates positive outcomes for youth and supports policies that provide young people with the opportunities they need to succeed both now and in the future.

Inspired by Climb with Confidence theme with the WNBA All-Star student ambassadors from MCCOY over the weekend.?Proud of the students who overcame their fear of heights and self-doubt to try something outside of their comfort zone!?I ultimately had to lead by example and climb the wall too! Thanks to Juan Gonzalez and Andrea Neely from the WNBA All-Star Committee for investing time with an extraordinary group of future leaders! I had the great experience of attending and speaking at the MCCOY Youth Day at the Statehouse today. I spent the day engaging with other youth advocates, observing committee hearings, and touring the building. When we created the WNBA All-Star Student Ambassador program with Marion County Commission on Youth (MCCOY), we envisioned a program that not only built confidence, but jump started the networks of 25 young women across Indiana with access to executive and community leaders. We recently concluded Session 2 and seeing our leaders from across Indiana step up is a true testament to the legacy of WNBA All-Star. I had the amazing opportunity to join Marion County Commission on Youth (MCCOY) for Youth Day at the Statehouse. It was such an incredible way to get the younger generation involved in legislature! I was fortunate enough to sit in for the State of the Child address which discussed advancements that Indiana has made for each adolescents well-being but also highlighted areas were there is still work to be done. What an awesome day!
