March was all about training at McCourt Construction. Each winter, we come together to sharpen our skills and refine our expertise for operations across our company. McCourt’s Safety Director, Scott Gorman, Safety Manager, Josh Palen, and Safety Representative, Randy Zankel, specially curated three comprehensive training sessions with activities and hands-on discussions to strengthen our team. We kicked off the month with a seminar led by Kevin L. Dougherty, a speaker with over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. The seminar covered leadership development and effective communication. The remainder of our training sessions featured presentations from our Safety Department, industry professionals, and our McCourt team members, who led discussions about safety, ownership, and many other valuable topics and insights. Josh Hade, Railroad Safety Coordinator, and Carl Campbell, Site Safety Officer, presented on railroad safety practices, and Nick Hewitt, Project Controls Director, discussed contracts and scheduling. We thank our guest speakers and all McCourt team members who dedicated their time and effort to our annual company training over the past few weeks—a special shoutout to our Safety Department for your hard work and dedication in running it. Happy Women In Construction Week + Women’s History Month! ? Most of the women of McCourt Construction were able to gather today to connect and collaborate on The National Association of Women in Construction’s (NAWIC) theme, ‘Together We Rise.' This theme captures key concepts of unity, skills, and a shared vision of creating the strongest construction industry yet. ? Founded in 1998 by The National Association of Women in Construction, Women in Construction Week aims to further its mission of strengthening and amplifying the successes of women in the field and works to emphasize the growing role of women in the industry. This year, it formally takes place from March 2nd to March 8th, but the drive for women in this industry is an endless pursuit.
