Leadership development center offering professional development seminars & immersion experiences for future leaders
关于我们
Founded in 1991, the non-partisan McConnell Center at the University of Louisville seeks to identify, recruit and nurture Kentucky's next generation of great leaders. Our core principles—leadership, scholarship and service—guide us as we (1) prepare top undergraduate students to become future leaders; (2) offer civic education programs for teachers, students and the public; and (3) conduct strategic leadership development for the US Army. U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, a 1964 graduate of the university, along with UofL officials, founded the Center based on his belief that "Kentucky's future depends on inspiring talented, motivated leaders."

Joe Wilson '25 shares his reflections as a graduating McConnell Scholar in his final blog post: "Inside the McConnell Center’s seminar room stands a towering bookcase, its shelves filled with works of history, philosophy, political science, and literature. Etched into the wooden paneling are the words of President John Adams: 'Let us dare to read, think, speak, and write.'" READ: https://lnkd.in/gRD4tgFB

The McConnell Center mourns the loss of Ulysses "Junior" Bridgeman, whose commitment to UofL and the broader Louisville community will forever be remembered. "The McConnell Center has been the work of many hands over the last three decades. Junior Bridgeman was a kind and generous member of our Board of Advisors in the late 1990s and we appreciate his contributions to our students, our program and our community." -- McConnell Center Director Gary Gregg, PhD

Allie Rose Phillips '25 shares her reflections on her last four years at the University of Louisville in her final blog post: "As graduation is fast approaching, I have been thinking about all that I have been able to do since coming to college: from serving as Student Body President and interning in Frankfort to eating new types of food and traveling out of the country. I have been given such new and exciting opportunities that I never could have imagined when stepping on this campus for the first time 4 years ago. Though I will leave this campus in just a couple months, I will forever be grateful for every memory I was able to make on this campus." https://lnkd.in/gtwtJXKb
