    A highlight of our work days? Getting to meet with the people we’ve placed into jobs they love. Sometimes we’ll go to lunch, sometimes we’ll drop off a treat. For our most recent visits, we were able to do both! First, we dropped by to check on a special group at Kirkland & Ellis and to deliver some delicious Crumbl cookies. After that, we stopped by another client site to pick up a few folks for lunch. It was wonderful to see and catch up with each and every person, to find out how things are going, and to hear about what they're working on. And while these trips were focused on our placements, we also like to check in regularly with our client hiring managers to find out how things are going from their perspective. We do this because we have a genuine interest in building meaningful connections. When we do that, we know we’ll build lasting relationships that drive results and better business for everyone. #Culture #ITStaffing #Recruiting

    We love the fall! The changing colors of leaves, yummy comfort foods, sweater season — all of it is a signal that the holidays and end of year season has arrived. McCann Partners embraces this time of year. And while not everything is a sweet treat like budgeting and forecasting, we’ve come to appreciate the optimism that accompanies the fourth quarter like how we typically see an uptick of activity during this season.     We asked ChatGPT for input about job candidates using generative AI to help with their resume and cover letter writing and this is what was shared back: “It’s a smart move when used right, but here are a few things to keep in mind: Benefits: ?? Saves Time: AI can draft content quickly, perfect for job hunters on the go. ?? Polishes Language: Ensures professional tone and flawless grammar. ?? Customizable: Easily tweak for different roles to match job descriptions. ?? Boosts Creativity: AI can suggest skills or achievements you may have missed! Risks: ?? Generic Content: AI-generated writing can lack the personal touch. ?? Over-Reliance: You still need to review and personalize it for accuracy. ?? Ethical Questions: Not all candidates have access to these tools, raising fairness concerns. Our Tip: Use AI to get started, but make sure your personality and unique skills shine through!” And while this exercise definitely had us reaping some of the benefits AND risks that ChatGPT’s response mentioned, something felt missing. That gap was what our Founder and CEO, Megan McCann, stressed in her recent blog on this very topic and it has to do with our humanness. Meaning, someone can leverage AI strategically to be more efficient, but it can’t do what we humans can — like sincerely engage through eye contact, active listening, meaningful discussion, and relationship-building.     Simply put, return-to-office or RTO mandates that require workers to be in the office 5 days a week hurts hiring and ignores what workers value. Experts evaluating these mandates have pointed out drawbacks such as varying accountability standards, vague communication, exclusion of workers in the decision-making process, and the lack of KPIs in place to inform these work policies. For today’s workforce, there are helpful tools that exist to make employees more efficient and effective wherever they may be working. From a staffing and recruiting perspective, it behooves companies to embrace the hybrid model and support the flexibility that workers want. What do you think about RTO mandates? #WFH #FutureOfWork

    Uncertainty seems to sum up how hiring managers are feeling about the rest of 2024 and heading into next year. And while some of that uncertainty is tied to what the election outcome will be, we have a few reasons to look at the glass as being half full for the end of 2024 and early 2025. ? The most recent US jobs report revealed that 254,000 were added in September, well above the 140,000 that was forecasted by experts. ? Previous hiring numbers for July and August were also revised to be higher, indicating a more robust job market than previously thought. ? The unemployment rate dropped from August’s 4.22% to 4.05%. ? Monthly wage growth increased to 4%, the highest since May of this year. ? Significant hiring decisions could come to fruition after the US election. According to Korn Ferry, “A bunch of clients are waiting until after the election to reopen postings,” while a Duke University survey recently revealed that roughly 20% of CFOs have postponed plans due to uncertainty around the election.
