?? Pitching broadcast media to cover an event can be nerve wracking at times: ?? You identify the assignment editors at the news desk ?? You send them the press release with a personal pitch ?? You follow up by phone to make sure they saw it and added it to their calendar of potential stories to pursue that day. Often, final decisions are not made until morning of event. ?? And then you wait... ?? Until you get the call as the event opens (and you're super busy facilitating other editors): "Hi this is CBS News, we'll stop by in 20 minutes, can you help us line up attendees and spokespeople we can speak with?" ??You quickly identify the attendees that can speak, quickly prep your spokesperson - and it's off to the races. ??When all of the above falls into place, it's a good day to be in PR, - but phew; the often not knowing until last minute is definitely the challenge we always need to be ready to embrace.
