McCabe Message Partners

This month, the McCabe team traveled to Greensboro, NC to support nonprofit organizations in developing communications plans. During the North Carolina Network of Grantmakers’ annual training, McCabe coaches explained the elements of a communications plan and helped grantees develop one for their organizations, all of which work to improve the health and well-being of North Carolinians.

Congratulations to some of the McCabe staff on their work anniversaries this month! Together, these folks bring over half a century of experience in advocacy and communications to the table.

Winning isn’t everything…except when it comes to bocce ball! The McCabe team kicked off the start of a remote summer with a day of strategic throws, friendly competition, and lots of fun.?

Patient Safety Awareness Week is a reminder that advancing discussions and inspiring action can help improve the safety and well-being of patients everywhere. The team was in Chapel Hill, NC last week supporting a “food is medicine” initiative that prescribes medically tailored meals for people living with chronic disease. The approach acknowledges how a healthy diet can improve health and lower healthcare costs.

So far, this flu season has caused at least 14 million illnesses, 150,000 hospitalizations, and 9,400 deaths, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and officials are expecting a surge in cases in late January and February.
