Exploring the extracellular matrix to advance healthcare.
关于我们
The MBSANZ is a not-for-profit organisation that brings together researchers, clinicians and industry leaders with a common interest in the extracellular matrix with relevance to the development, maintenance, pathology and repair of almost every organ in our body. Our members are active researchers with a broad spectrum of interests where the study of the extracellular matrix leads to new fundamental knowledge as well as applications for health. The MBSANZ provides a platform for collegiate discussions and knowledge transfer on all aspects of the extracellular matrix.

GlycoWeb - this is the kit that's transformed our ability to link GAG structure to function. Imaging GAGs in situ and (using some super smart work by Lorna Milne, Andrew Hook, Kenton Arkill and now Luke Thornton, Hannah Evans, Arya Ajay, Imogen Holyland et al.) and benefiting from our amazing GAG community, we can ID GAG motifs and link them in time and space to functional changes in cells/tissues/in vitro models. ?? Instrument Introduction: 3D OrbiSIMS ?? We’re excited to introduce one of the most powerful surface analysis tools in our facility: the 3D OrbiSIMS! This cutting-edge instrument pushes the boundaries of chemical imaging and depth profiling with unprecedented sensitivity and resolution. ?? What Makes the 3D OrbiSIMS Unique? ?? Ultra-High Mass Resolution – Achieve ppm-level mass accuracy, distinguishing even the smallest chemical variations. ?? 3D Chemical Imaging – Generate high-resolution, three-dimensional maps of chemical distributions across sample surfaces. ? High-Sensitivity Molecular Analysis – Detect trace-level organic and inorganic species with extreme precision. ?? Depth Profiling Capability – Investigate material composition layer by layer, perfect for thin films and complex structures. ?? Versatile Applications – Suitable for materials science, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and beyond! ?? Why It Matters The 3D OrbiSIMS combines the best of secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) and Orbitrap technology, making it a game-changer for researchers needing ultra-sensitive chemical characterisation. Whether you’re studying biological systems, advanced materials, or nanotechnology, this instrument delivers data with unmatched clarity. ?? Need high-resolution chemical insights for your research? Get in touch to explore how the 3D OrbiSIMS at the nmRC can support your work! ?? [email protected] ?? Want to see more, tomorrow we will be sharing a case study from a recent publication featuring 3D OrbiSIMS! #SurfaceAnalysis #OrbiSIMS #MassSpectrometry #NanoResearch #Innovation #nmRC

We’re part way through the?Australasian Wound & Tissue Repair Society & Matrix Biology Society of Australia and New Zealand (MBSANZ) 2024 Joint Scientific Meeting, and while we’ve seen some fantastic science, we’ve also had some amazing social events! Check out some of the highlights (and lots of Quokka selfies! ??). ?? ECR Networking Event:?Our Early Career Researcher (ECR) networking event was a huge success! Attendees had the chance to connect with peers, meet new people, and catch up with friends. It was inspiring to see so many bright minds come together. ??? Trip to Rottnest Island:?Delegates spent Tuesday afternoon on an unforgettable trip to Rottnest Island! Participants enjoyed exploring, relaxing, and having fun on the island. It was the perfect way to unwind and bond with fellow attendees outside the conference setting. Thank you to everyone who made these events so memorable! #AWTRS2024 #MBSANZ2024 #EventRecap #Networking #ECR #RottnestIsland #ScientificCommunity
