Earlier this week, MBP joined the City of Chesapeake and community leaders to celebrate the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the newly expanded and renovated Russell Memorial Library! ?? MBP provided construction management services for this important community project, which included renovating the existing 4,700-square-foot children’s wing and expanding it by an additional 5,000 square feet. The new space features a larger children's area, an outdoor courtyard for a community garden, updated study rooms, a new teen room, a children's programming room, modern meeting spaces, and fully renovated restrooms. Throughout the 10-month renovation and addition, MBP coordinated closely with the City of Chesapeake's Facilities Maintenance and IT departments to upgrade the HVAC and IT systems—bringing added value to the project without impacting the library’s budget. This year marks a special milestone for Michael Siburt, MBP's Vice President and Service Line Leader for our Project Risk Analysis + Consulting practice. Now 20 years, three kids, and countless projects later, he continues to help clients navigate project risk and improve project outcomes. What a weekend! ?? We just got back from MBP's most anticipated event of the year—our Annual Business Meeting! Our team members and guests gathered in Baltimore, MD, for a weekend full of learning, connection, and celebration. The ABM is a chance to align on our vision, share key initiatives, and connect across offices. It's also one of our most important training conferences, with breakout sessions focused on professional growth and collaboration. …but the fun didn't stop there! Highlights from this year included a Friday night sports theme with tailgate games and food, Saturday's business meeting and breakout sessions, an MBP Jeopardy game at lunch, a photo booth, and an evening awards celebration capped off with dueling pianos! We also hosted a silent auction, raising money for the ASCE Disaster Response Fund, and got an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Raven's Stadium. We're proud that no matter how much we've grown, we've continued the tradition of celebrating at this event every year.
