You’re in the early stages of a research plan ? You need historical or large-scale data ? You’re benchmarking against competitors ? Your research doesn’t require firsthand data When secondary research may not be enough: ? If your research question requires original data ? If sources are outdated, biased, or lack relevance ? What skills are most valuable to researchers? In last week’s webinar, our in-house experts discussed this year’s industry trends and insights. When asked about the skills needed in the coming years, our Senior Product Researcher, Matthieu D., shared: “The best researcher is someone who is a good communicator.” When you can advocate for your users, balance business needs, and understand technical constraints, you can create solutions that benefit everyone. It’s about advocating for your users, bridging gaps between perspectives, and speaking the language to get stakeholder buy-in. What other skills do you think are helpful to researchers? ??

58% of product teams now use AI—but for what? As part of our annual report, we asked participants how they use AI tools in their user research studies. Here’s what we found: ?? Analyzing user research data (74%) ?? Transcription (58%) ?? Generating research questions (54%) ?? Planning and drafting research studies (50%) AI is becoming a co-pilot as teams automate the most time-intensive tasks. But while AI can help us do more faster, the human element is irreplaceable. So, a question for our community: How can we best integrate AI into our research processes while maintaining the depth and rigor of human analysis?
