We are excited to announce a Request for Proposals seeking service design and workforce development service providers to co-design and pilot new program models for New Yorkers with disabilities, and to equip employers with tools and strategies necessary for more accessible workplaces. Developed collaboratively by the Mayor's Office for Economic Opportunity, the NYC Department of Small Business Services, NYC Mayor's Office of Talent and Workforce Development, the Center for Workplace Accessibility and Inclusion, and the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD), this $6.4 million initiative marks a significant step towards fostering inclusivity and empowerment in our city.? Our goals are to support New Yorkers with disabilities in finding and keeping quality employment, build evidence for new employment program models, and demonstrate how co-design with community members and employers can be built into City government program design. We're pleased that the Center for an Urban Future's “15 Policy Ideas for NYC to Start in 2025” includes two of our programs. It calls for expanding CUNY Ace, which helps college students to succeed, boosting graduation rates by over 40% for the first two cohorts at CUNY’s John Jay College. “15 Policy Ideas from NYC to Start in 2025” also calls for expanding the Human Services Career Advancement Scholarship at CUNY, which helps build a pipeline of well-prepared candidates to advance in the human services field. It also calls for expanding literary and workforce programs for immigrants, which is the focus of the new Vocational ESL program we are launching with the NYC Department of Small Business Services. The CUNY Fatherhood Academy is hiring an Assistant Consortium Director at LaGuardia Community College in Queens, NY! Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and four years of relevant experience required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Master’s degree in a relevant field area. - At least six (6) years of experience developing and managing education, training, and/or workforce development programs, pre-college programs, and/or working with young adults or fathers/parents. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, demanding, and complex work environment, with the ability to carry out multiple, complex assignments. - Ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgement, and adapt to changing situations and priorities. - Excellent written and oral communication skills required. - A self-learner and exponential thinker; resourceful and comfortable learning by doing. - Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access) and collaborative/ teleconferencing technologies (Teams, Zoom, etc.). - Database management skills and experience with WordPress or other website editors and social media tools are a plus. The Assistant Consortium Director participates in the daily coordination of academic and administrative activities of a College's specialized academic program under management direction. - Supports program development, student service delivery, outcome evaluation, and instructor/student recruitment, enrollment, and retention. Recommends, implements, and evaluates strategies to expand program offerings. - Prepares analytical and statistical reports for management. - Develops and maintains relationships with various College offices to improve student and faculty services. - Serves as resource expert regarding program policies and procedures. - Oversees office recordkeeping; manages updates of program web and print materials. - May supervise office operations and/or department budget. - Performs related duties as assigned.
