VERT develops wearable technology with integrated social applications using cloud connectivity to stream athletic data on broadcast, social. The VERT wearable jump device provides jump rate, jump height and practically any vertical jump measurement data for combines, tryouts, workouts, practices, games or broadcast experiences. VERTcast is similar to the yellow line in football broadcast or similar to the pitch speed data for baseball. VERTcast is the first broadcast application using wearable technology in a NCAA game. VERTcast made its debut in a NCAA volleyball game on 8-29-14 as fans experienced real-time player vertical jump data that was wirelessly transmitted by the VERT wearable jump device LIVE on stadium Jumbotron. VERT made its broadcast debut and was the first wearable technology used in a NCAA game on 10-15-14 during the University of South Carolina and University of Florida volleyball match in Columbia, SC.

Mechanical Engineering Co-op Student at the University of Alberta | Aspiring Sports Engineer
I am thrilled to share a project I’ve been working on with the Golden Bears Volleyball (GBV) team at the University of Alberta, in conjunction with the VERT technology Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensors. Over the last few seasons, I’ve collaborated with the GBV coaching staff to analyze and present athlete data, helping to: ? Monitor the efficacy of return-to-play protocols ? Plan efficient practices around optimal jump loading levels ? Track team and individual jump progress throughout the season To share this work, I created an infographic series highlighting how these sensors contribute to the performance of the team and its athletes throughout the season. This series is currently being featured on the GBV Instagram page, to showcase how IMUs work and how we can use this data in volleyball! ??
