Mayer Brown represented Ullico Infrastructure Fund in its acquisition of a majority equity interest in Vista Ridge, LLC from affiliates of Ridgewood Infrastructure, LLC. Vista Ridge is the largest operating water public-private partnership in the United States. The Vista Ridge water pipeline delivers approximately 20% of San Antonio’s fresh water under a long-term concession agreement with the San Antonio Water System. The Mayer Brown team was led by partners Jason Wagenmaker, Joshua La Vigne, Philip Lau, Gabriela Sakamoto, and JoonBeom Pae, and counsel Jeromy Cannon in the firm’s Chicago, Houston, New York, and Washington DC offices. Our Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Practice hosted lawyers from eight offices at a recent US Cyber-Privacy Counsel and Associate Training Retreat in Washington DC. The Retreat featured presentations on recent developments in cybersecurity and data privacy law and policy by lawyers in the practice.?Additionally, partner Amber Thomson led a tabletop exercise, a role-playing simulation in which participants responded to a series of developments in a hypothetical scenario. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed colleague, mentor and former chair, Bob Helman. Bob was a partner in our Chicago office for nearly 57 years, and he was a towering figure in the legal profession, recognized as one of the most highly regarded corporate lawyers in the United States. As chair, he led Mayer Brown through a pivotal transformation. Bob’s influence extended far beyond our firm. He was a dedicated servant to Chicago’s cultural, philanthropic, and legal communities. He was also dedicated to serving pro bono clients and the community at large, including helping establish Legal Aid Chicago to provide free legal services to indigent people. Bob’s dedication to service and mentorship instilled in us the values that define Mayer Brown and leaves an enduring legacy.
