Rohan Subramanian and I were honored to represent Maycomb Capital at the Colorado Opioid Abatement Council Conference this week. It was inspiring to see the sheer number of government representatives, community-based organizations, and advisory councils that convened to discuss the most effective strategies to ameliorate the opioid crisis in Colorado. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to share how Pay for Success contracting ensures that public dollars are only spent on interventions that work, which could allow government to quickly and effectively put their opioid settlement funds to use to drive impact and create lasting change. Thank you again to Rocky Mountain Partnership for the invite and for connecting us with others who wish to see this once-in-a-generation funding stream put to use effectively and efficiently. ? We also got the chance to experience #AcuDetox acupuncture—an amazing demonstration of alternative therapies that can support recovery. It’s inspiring to see so many innovative approaches being considered as we work towards solutions to the opioid crisis.

It's been a busy few days for our team! Last week, Andi Phillips, Becky Gray, Malik McCray and Jonathan Lovely?attended the?StriveTogether #CradletoCareer?conference in Salt Lake City, while Shelby Kohn and Rohan Subramanian were at the Provider Summit hosted by The Center for Outcomes Based Contracting at SEF in Austin. We?learned so much from the incredible organizations in attendance and had many exciting and productive conversations about the benefits of aligning funding with outcomes. We look forward to translating these conversations into scalable impact through our work!

We are thrilled to launch the expansion of Home 4 Good, a groundbreaking eviction prevention program that partners affordable housing owners with nonprofit housing specialists to proactively identify and assist tenants in rental arrears, with a goal of improving tenant housing stability.?? ? The partnership-based program includes?HELP USA, RiseBoro Community Partnership and L+M Development Partners LLC, and brings an innovative outcomes-based financing approach to eviction prevention. We’re reflecting on last month’s Sorenson Impact Summit where Andi Phillips spoke alongside Jeffrey Cyr of Raven Indigenous Impact Foundation in a Q&A led by Janis Dubno, MBA of Sorenson Impact. The group shared their takeaways from a decade of outcomes-based financing and their hopes for the future of outcomes financed, community-led projects. Andi shared an important lesson learned in her early days in impact investing: “If you had that pool of flexible capital, it gave you the ability to be much more responsive to community need.
