Working at the intersection of Art + Science helps us to communicate complex concepts, to forge collaborations that create new knowledge and interpretation and to find beauty in unexpected places. We've been incredibly fortunate to receive funding from Maxwell/Hanrahan Foundation to develop a Scientific Illustrator internship. With the support of my colleagues, Ecologist Catherine Hu and Artist-in-Residence Peggy MacNamara, we've been able to work with rising artists Sorin Sukumaran and Rika Mizoguchi. I am in awe of their incredible talent and grateful for their partnership. Catherine has shared the experience in her recent article, "Nurturing the Next Generation of Scientific Illustrators". Delve into the story and enjoy!
