Welcome to the Perutz, Carla! ??
We're welcoming some new students to the Vienna BioCenter PhD Program (pics from top L to R). Felix Julius Wolkenstein from Johannes Kepler Universit?t Linz joined the lab of Thomas Leonard at Max Perutz Labs Vienna. His research focuses on how a key cell cycle checkpoint switch is activated in response to DNA damage and inactivated upon DNA repair. Ruba Dawud from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem joined the Julius Brennecke lab at Institute of Molecular Biotechnology to study transcription in heterochromatin. Carla Simon from The University of Bonn joined the lab of Dea Slade at Max Perutz Labs Vienna. She plans to investigate the regulatory mechanism of phosphorylation of the transcription elongation machinery during neuronal differentiation. Patrick Zelger from Universit?t Wien joined the Anna Obenauf lab at Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP). During his PhD, he will study the mechanisms cancer cells use to manipulate innate immune signaling to evade anti-tumor immune responses. Our Spring call is now open with over 25+ fully funded positions in various disciplines in the life sciences. Interested?
