Last week we achieved a major milestone for M2E Foundation, as we launched the new School Leaders Program in Rwanda in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Rwanda Basic Education, Districts and schools. Of all our experiences gained over the last 8 years, leadership in schools, starting with the Headmasters, has proven to deliver the biggest positive education impact for children. We are excited to partner with all the local stakeholders to sustainably transform education outcomes in public primary schools in Rwanda by investing in school leadership. Over the next 5 years and in close partnership with all the local partners, we will positively impact more than 350,000 children in rural primary schools, who will be able to access high quality education and realize their full potential and dreams!

Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of the *School Leaders Program* in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Rwanda Basic Education, Districts, and schools. Special thanks to M2E co-founders Markus Gemuend and Monique Silva Bobadilla our visionaries, and our guest of honor, the Director General of REB Dr. Nelson MBARUSHIMANA, PhD who said that “Guided by NST2 and Vision 2050, we are committed to ensuring every child has access to quality education”. In 5 years, over 350,000 children will be impacted by the M2E School Leaders Program. Together, we’re shaping the future of education in Rwanda! #Education #Rwanda #Leadership #M2E #MINEDUC #NST2 #Vision2050

  • We’re thrilled to welcome our co-founder Monique Silva Bobadilla for an intensive coaching session this week as we prepare for the official launch of our new School Leaders Program in 8 schools next week in Musanze and Rutsiro District respectively. Monique has over 20 years of experience in strategic leadership, talent development, change management and innovation. She brings invaluable expertise in building high-performing teams and fostering innovation. This week’s training will be crucial in finalizing the curriculum and tailoring it for primary school leaders. Monique’s collaboration will ensure our selected team of M2E Education Specialists are fully prepared.

  • In celebration of International Literacy Day 2024, M2E Foundation is proud to recognize the efforts made to promote literacy among various stakeholders in the education sector in Rwanda. Reflecting on our positive and improved results from last year, we are especially proud of our student community, whose unwavering commitment to literacy has led to our schools being ranked 1st and 3rd out of 91 public schools in Musanze District, Northern Province of Rwanda. Additionally, our two schools received 51 letters of excellence to boarding schools, out of a total of 230 from all public schools in the district. Although M2E-supported schools represent only 2% of the district's total, we earned 22% of these letters of excellence. As the academic year begins tomorrow, we wish our 2,300 students a successful and fulfilling year ahead. We are also excited to launch our newest program, which will help us reach 8 new schools this year, impacting more than 10,000 students through capacity building for school leaders.

On this year’s International Women’s Day, I am celebrating M2E Foundation's (https://m2eafrica.org/) strong and amazing female leaders working tirelessly to provide young children in rural Rwanda with access to high quality education. I am grateful to be part of our African and women led M2E Foundation. I experience every single day and in every single situation their passion for impact, how they lead from their hearts, driven by a clear vision and purpose. With their high energy they never settle for good, they always look for better solutions that can deliver more sustainable impact. I admire their thoughtfulness, their ability to listen, their inclusiveness, their desire to learn and grow. I am inspired by their tenacity when they are convinced about what needs to get done, and their courage which helps them to overcome their doubts and fears. As a result, they successfully tackle the biggest obstacles and challenges along the way. And deliver impact against all odds, because they are, first and foremost, formidable human beings, and then show up as fearless leaders and change makers. Some more in the background, some more in the forefront, but all always working together as a coherent team. Collectively driven to truly change what often looks like an impossible mountain to climb: providing access to high quality education for the poorest in rural Rwanda. Thank you for your leadership Liliane Nsengiyumva, Annique Hakalima, Beatrice Nyiransengiyumva, Pascaline INEZA, Brigitte Tuyisenge, co-founder Monique Silva Bobadilla and board members Alice Higiro and Pauline Koelbl. I am grateful to know you all, to experience your humanity and to be working with you on one of the most pressing needs of our times. So many more women worldwide, in particular women of color, deserve opportunities to demonstrate their talent, explore their full potentials and create the impact necessary to accelerate making this world a better one for all. So much more awareness is required and it starts with changing the mindsets of those, like me,?born in environments with privileges and with only limited or no exposure to the challenges, injustices and inequalities that women still face today. We have to not only talk about creating diverse and inclusive environments, and be happy with some improved statistics. We need much higher ambitions and give every woman no matter where she lives, or comes from, the opportunity to thrive in this one world we all live in. Let us celebrate all the women on this special day and every day of the year!
