"The Great Wealth Transfer" is a criminally under-discussed topic. $68 trillion in wealth will be transferred from Baby Boomers to younger generations, with a significant portion of this wealth tied up in small businesses. This transfer represents one of the largest shifts in economic power in recent history. Over 50% small businesses will be owned by Millennials in 2024, compared to the majority being owned by Baby Boomers in 2010. In other words, how we buy and sell will soon change forever. In more words, this is a huge opportunity for companies to adapt to new methods of consumer behavior. Gone are the days when business was built purely on relationships (yes, even in B2B service industries). We're seeing data-driven content strategies, social media savvy, and an emphasis on brand authenticity leading the way as industries reset. While we're not totally sure how this will play out, I can say we’ve seen an influx of legacy businesses (20 to 30 years) like AC Beverage reach out as they sense a change on the horizon. It will be interesting.
