Millennials are hitting menopause—and it’s already making an impact on the workplace. In fact, according to Maven’s research, 29% of millennials and 26% of Gen Xers feel unsupported when it comes to managing their symptoms at work. Isha Vij, SVP of Growth at Maven, spoke with Employee Benefit News about our findings, highlighting the critical role employers play in reducing the stigma surrounding menopause and making support for women and families a key part of their company culture. Labor leaders have long fought to build best-in-class benefits to support their union members. But between non-standard hours, long shifts, and rigid schedules, union workers—who make up over 10% of the U.S. labor force—face unique challenges that make it difficult to get the care they need. Fertility and family building benefits are now on the must-have list to help build strong union families. Implementing fertility benefits for your trust can help attract new members and ensure they are getting the care they need, whenever they need it. TikTok is addictive. It's also the primary source of health information for a lot of people, including the majority of Gen Z. And, for those facing fertility challenges, during which care is often inaccessible and expensive, the urge to turn to social media for support and advice is natural. Although the #ttc (trying to conceive) tips shared on social media are largely well-meaning, not all of them are safe. And—even more frighteningly—not all fertility misinformation on the platform is easily identifiable. Last week, Maven’s clinical team published peer-reviewed research in American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG)'s open-access journal that found nearly 60% of the top trending videos under the #ttc hashtag shared misinformation. For his latest issue of The Preprint, our chief medical officer Dr. Neel Shah dives into his team’s findings and talks with experts about the fertility rumor mill on TikTok—and why it keeps us coming back. For many struggling with infertility, social media has become a go-to place for community, support, and information. But in a world where accessible, evidence-based fertility education is hard to come by, misinformation often fills the gap. And while much of the advice shared on social media is well-meaning, not all of it is safe. Maven’s latest peer-reviewed research, published in American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG)'s open access journal, uncovers the landscape of fertility misinformation on TikTok, focusing in on posts tagged with “trying to conceive,” or #ttc. Here’s what we found: ?? The majority (57%) of the top-rated #ttc videos on TikTok promote strategies that aren’t backed by science. ?? The most common non-evidence-based strategies include taking Mucinex, taking dietary and probiotic supplements, and using progesterone. ?? Only 1 in 4 of the videos tagged #ttc are made by healthcare professionals—highlighting the urgent need for more accurate and accessible information. It’s clear: people struggling to conceive are seeking much-needed information but often encounter misleading advice that can complicate their journey. The fertility community deserves better—and access to clinically valid, evidence-based support can make all the difference. Learn more about our findings here: https://bit.ly/3YuR3mE

Today is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day. These losses are incredibly personal and painful experiences—yet they are often dealt with in silence, especially in the workplace. With up to 20% of pregnancies ending in miscarriage, many employees return to work while quietly carrying the weight of their loss. The emotional toll can be overwhelming, increasing the risk of depression, anxiety, and even PTSD. As HR leaders, providing compassionate support during this difficult time is essential. Offering access to mental health resources, leave policies that acknowledge loss, and continuous care through family health benefits can make a world of difference for grieving employees. Let’s work together to create a workplace that supports families through every part of their journey. Find our guide to supporting employees through pregnancy loss on our family benefits resource hub: https://bit.ly/487YK5F
