"We clearly have a trust challenge as it pertains to healthcare. It's not the job of the people who need healthcare to be trusting—it's the job of the healthcare system to be trustworthy." On the latest episode of The Lost Debate podcast, our Chief Medical Officer Dr. Neel Shah shares how the right innovations can help restore trust between patients and providers—particularly for communities that have been historically underserved by status quo healthcare. Neel and host Ravi Gupta discuss: ?? Why public trust in the system has declined ?? Why rebuilding trust starts with meeting patients where they are ?? How digital solutions are creating more consistent, reliable care experiences Listen here: https://lnkd.in/g7FWZBST #healthequity #digitalhealth #employeebenefits

Picture this: you're walking into a meeting, trying to focus on what you'll be sharing—and then suddenly, you're hit by an overwhelming wave of heat. Your heart races, and it feels like you've stepped into a sauna. Hot flashes like this are all too common for the 1 in 5 employees in the U.S. workforce who are navigating menopause. And they're just one of many symptoms affecting workplace performance: nearly half of employees in menopause say their symptoms affect their productivity on a weekly basis, and 20% say they're impacted daily. Proper menopause support can be game-changing at work. In fact, 1 in 3 members who met with a Maven OB-GYN reported reduced hot flashes, helping them manage their symptoms and thrive in their careers. Maven and March for Moms recently welcomed our MPact for Families fellows, Ttáwaxt Birth Justice Center and Iowa Black Doula Collective, to New York for a day of sharing, learning, and networking at Maven HQ. From going deeper on care model design to engaging in a meaningful discussion about community-based research with Maven’s Visiting Scientist and Scientific Advisor Board member, Dr. Rachel Hardeman, our workshops centered on opportunities to deepen and scale the impact these organizations are already making in their communities. Thanks to everyone who joined us for these thought-provoking conversations. Spending the day with such dedicated, inspiring maternal health leaders reinforced what we know to be true: transformative change happens when we come together. Menopause has long been treated as invisible in the workplace, but that's changing fast. Employees are destigmatizing menopause and demanding solutions—and leading employers are taking action. One company that understands the urgent need for support during this phase of life? Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. We're excited to share that we’ve expanded our partnership with BCBSMA to deliver comprehensive menopause benefits to their workforce and many employer partners, including 24/7 access to specialized menopause care, personalized educational resources, and community forums. With menopause-related productivity losses costing U.S. employers $1.8B annually, the business case for providing this support is clear. But the opportunity is even bigger: menopause is a critical window for long-term health, and the behavior changes employees make during midlife can shape their well-being for decades to come. Today marks the first day of Transgender Awareness Week, a time for listening, learning, and advancing advocacy around issues impacting the trans community. Research shows that 25–50% of transgender individuals are parents, with many more hoping to grow their families. Yet trans people often face significant barriers on the family-building journey, including healthcare discrimination, limited access to specialized providers, and incomplete or inaccurate information about their fertility options. Everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered as they set out on the family-building journey—regardless of their gender identity. Employers can play a powerful role in creating truly inclusive workplaces by ensuring their fertility benefits support every unique path to parenthood. This means: ?? Providing access to specialized gender-affirming care providers ?? Covering the costs of fertility preservation ?? Offering access to clinically-vetted educational content and communities of peers navigating similar journeys ?? Using inclusive language in benefits communications Learn more about how your organization can close gaps in care for trans employees: https://lnkd.in/gdwVD7YC #transawarenessweek #fertilitybenefits #healthequity

Although 1 in 5 people in the U.S. workforce are in some phase of menopause, many women feel uncomfortable discussing their symptoms and the support they need in the workplace. Our SVP of Growth, Isha Vij, and Sarah Shepherd, Privia Health's Senior Director of People Operations, recently joined host Golda Arthur on the Overlooked podcast to talk about how leadership can foster a supportive environment for employees navigating menopause and how Privia Health is paving the way in offering menopause benefits. Family benefits are becoming table stakes—but not all family-building journeys look the same. Ahead of World Adoption Day tomorrow, we're highlighting how employers can meaningfully support employees on their adoption journeys. Is your organization considering offering adoption benefits? Here are 7 items to consider including for a successful adoption program: ? Adoption coaching and resources: Virtual access to expert adoption coaches and clinically-vetted content can help your employees better understand the process. ? Financial assistance: The cost of domestic adoption can be as high as $50,000. To support employees, your organization may provide a fixed lump sum amount or reimburse for travel and other adoption-related expenses. ? Financial planning resources: Access to financial professionals can help employees budget and prepare for the cost of adoption. ? Paid adoption leave: Adoptive parents may qualify for leave under the Family & Medical Leave Act. However, your company should also extend your parental leave policies to include those with adopted children. Companies can also grant additional PTO for employees to travel, attend appointments, and bond with their newly adopted child. ? Flexible work arrangements: Flexible scheduling options can help your employees better balance the demands of adopting a child with their work. ? Legal support: The legalities of adoption can be another significant barrier on the journey. Access to legal aid (including LGBTQIA+-friendly legal assistance), referrals, and even financial support for legal representation can help reduce these burdens. ? Mental health benefits: The adoption process can cause both financial and emotional stress for many adoptive parents. Access to support and professional counseling can support your employees' mental health and general well-being as they embark on their adoption journey.
