Yesterday, we proudly celebrated the topping out of JFK Terminal 6, marking a major milestone in the transformation of JFK International Airport. This achievement brings us one step closer to delivering a state-of-the-art terminal that will redefine the travel experience for millions of passengers.
In his speech, Jason Kopp, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of AECOM Hunt's Central Region, remarked, "The transformation of JFK Airport – and today’s topping out of Terminal 6 – represent the very best of what New York and New Yorkers have to offer: a deep desire for excellence, a relentless drive to set new standards, and an unwavering commitment to welcoming people of all cultures, backgrounds, and countries."
Together with Governor Kathy Hochul, JFK Millennium Partners, and The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, we celebrated the steel topping of Terminal 6, a key milestone in its construction. This achievement means we’re one step closer to creating over 4,000 jobs—including 1,800 union jobs—and reflects our strong commitment to diversity and local engagement, with a 30% MWBE goal. Set to open in 2026, Terminal 6 will feature state-of-the-art security measures and world-class amenities for travelers.
A special thanks to all the tradespeople whose skill and dedication made this milestone possible. AECOM Hunt is proud to contribute to the historic transformation of one of the busiest airports in the world!
