Wrapping up Women In Construction week must include recognizing the behind the scene Administrative Staff at Mattox Plumbing. Ann Krumscheid, Controller, Jodi Kostuchowski, Finance Administrator & Susan Oertel, Human Resources make of the team that handles the Office Administration side of the company. While they are not directly in the field working, their efforts need to be recognized as valuable cogs to the well oiled machine that is Mattox Plumbing.

No Celebration of Women In Construction would be complete without a day 4 celebration of Marci Hebert. Marci is Mattox Plumbing's Service Department Coordinator and she keep our service department busy! She juggles the schedules of all our Service Techs and is out proactively growing that part of our business. According to Marci, "Working?in the trades is about building a team and having your team be the best they can be.? Whether it be technicians, project managers, office staff or warehouse staff, having a great team helps make projects and service work be more successful."

Women In Construction Week Day three has us celebrating the dynamic duo of Barbara Midthun and Pilar Bydalek. Barbara, our Senior Preconstruction Administrator states that between her and Pilar, "While preconstruction is our primary focus, we wear many hats at Mattox Plumbing. Our involvement begins with the initial bid request and continues through project completion—and sometimes beyond. We work closely with the Director of Preconstruction, Jim Schubert and our four Project Managers, providing them with essential documents like spreadsheets, reports, submittals, scopes, and change orders. Additionally, we support our team of over 60 plumbers in the field by supplying them with the information they need. Our job is challenging and fast-paced, but the satisfaction of being the go-to source for answers makes it all worthwhile."

Celebrating Women in Construction would not be complete without the first woman master plumber, Lillian Baumbach Jacobs. Lillian Baumbach Jacobs (1930-2000),?from Arlington, Virginia, was a plumber. In 1951, at age 21, she became the first American woman to earn a master’s license in plumbing. She had graduated in 1947 from Washington-Lee High School and seems to have learned the basics of plumbing by assisting in her father's plumbing business. She went on to become president of the business until her retirement in 1989. She made appearances on television shows, in magazines, and as a pin-up girl for an infantry company during the?Korean War. Help Mattox Plumbing recognize this great woman and vote for our Hard Hat Designed just for her! Vote Here: https://wshe.es/gftrNiAZ

If you asked her what valuable career lesson or lessons would you like?to share with others? "My biggest career lesson is taking a risk and trying something new.
