? Casket delivery! I have an 18 gauge (brown) and 20 gauge (silver) in the room with me. All caskets purchased by our funeral home come from Matthews International Let’s discuss the differences: The main differences between an 18-gauge and a 20-gauge casket come down to thickness, durability, and sometimes design options: 1. Thickness & Durability – An 18-gauge casket is made from thicker steel than a 20-gauge casket. The lower the gauge number, the thicker and stronger the metal. This means an 18-gauge casket is generally more durable and heavier than a 20-gauge one. 2. Weight – Because of the extra thickness, an 18-gauge casket will be heavier than a 20-gauge. 3. Seal vs. Non-Seal – Many 18-gauge caskets are gasketed (sealer caskets), meaning they have a rubber gasket and a locking mechanism to help prevent outside elements from entering. While some 20-gauge caskets may have gaskets, most are non-gasketed. (This 20 gauge casket IS gasketed) 4. Price – An 18-gauge casket is usually more expensive than a 20-gauge one due to the additional material and potential sealing mechanism. 5. Aesthetic & Design Options – Because 18-gauge caskets tend to be a more premium option, they often come with more detailed finishes, upgraded hardware, and a wider variety of styles compared to standard 20-gauge caskets. 6. Longevity & Perceived Quality – While both serve the same purpose, 18-gauge caskets are often marketed as more substantial and long-lasting, while 20-gauge caskets are seen as a more economical option. #education #themoreyouknow #caskets

I recently visited our on going Mausolea complex project in southern California. The team is making great progress. This project includes crypt core buildings, niches, lawn crypts, and a water feature. I am proud of what these guys have accomplished.
