Meet our experts! If you work on a project for Matrix, you might run into Lynn Mazurowski, our Environmental Health & Safety Practice Leader. Lynn is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) with 30 years of environmental health and safety (EHS) consulting and management experience. She helps corporate EHS teams and site leadership understand their regulatory compliance obligations, align EHS strategy with key metrics, improve organizational culture and reduce environmental impacts. Lynn has extensive experience conducting audits and risk assessments, as well as leading cross-functional teams toward best-in-class operations. She has strong experience in ISO14001 and 45001 management system development and implementation, global HSE standards development, safety leadership training, compliance gap assessments, risk profile improvement process, software integration, GHG emissions inventory data collection, environmental permitting and reporting. Prior to joining Matrix, Lynn operated her own consulting practice for several years and managed the environmental health and safety function for multiple industrial companies, accountable for ISO 14001 implementation and maintenance, safety program development, safety training, and environmental compliance. #progressthroughmatrix #environmental #healthandsafety #hazmat

This week, Matrix sponsored the New York City Brownfield Partnership Innovative Redevelopment Summit. The event took place at the New York City Bar Association. Mindy Horowitz, PG, WEDG moderated the Renewable Energy Development on Brownfield Sites panel on Redeveloping the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal and the Ravenswood Generating Station with Holly Welsh from Equinor and Wil Fisher from Rise Light & Power. The Matrix team had a blast at the Corporate FunRun 5K at Turtle Back Zoo and South Mountain Reservation Complex last night. Our team joined dozens of other companies in the area for a run and walk around the reservoir – congrats to all who participated. And, not to brag, but Matrix won first place for the best t-shirt! We're proud to share that our NYC office conducted a drive to collect school supplies for Rising Ground, a leading nonprofit human services organization providing children, adults, and families in the greater New York City area with the resources and skills needed to rise above adversity and positively direct their lives. Rising Ground will distribute the supplies at various events to children in the 5 boroughs who are in foster care, low-income families, and/or living in shelters. Last month, William Reimer attended an event at the Fleishman Pier in Peekskill, NY. The NY Secretary of State, Hon. Walter Mosley, visited the pier as part of a tour of visits to sites that received funding from the State of New York.
