This morning we did our “Hot Seat” where we randomly select members to answer rapid-fire questions. Todays participants were: Michelle Power, Esq. from The Charleston Firm - handles wills and estates, real estate, contracts for small businesses, employee agreements and divorce - also owns a title company which she started in 2019 - fun fact: got into law because she loves to argue ;-) Louis Leof from PTM Promotional - fun fact: Lou loves the beach (Margate) where he has had a house for many years - apparel trends include performance fabrics, sun shirts, and hats - has been been in this business for almost success for 48 years. He attributes his longevity to his love of the industry! Bradyn S. Hackman from Restoration Relief - fun fact: was in car sales prior to his current role - best advice: 1) When it’s a really bad situation, don’t try to tackle it yourself. Let the professionals assess the damage, create a plan and break it down for the homeowner 2) Stay vigilant – check hot water heaters, make sure you turn off your outside hose taps in the winter, etc. John Nagy from Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company - handles life insurance, retirement funding, financial planning - best advice: 1) Get a financial advisor who can guide you and keep an eye on your investments to determine if you are getting the best return. 2) it is never too early to get a life insurance policy. They are cheap when you are young and worth it. Michael Fischer, Solar Installation Specialist - Energy costs will only get worse going into summer. Why? Retiring older facilities is a main factor, as well as storm recovery and the effects of climate change. - Pitch to someone who can’t get past the aesthetic? When you look at your bank account and you look at solar panels, you can decide which you are willing to deal with. Next week, Scott Hickey & Josh Kachnowich will present! Announcements: - Sandra Carlisle (CAIS) will be speaking at the Chester County Chamber Office on 2/26 at 8am - Amanda Capoferri is hosting a networking event on 2/26th from 4:30-7:30pm at Saloon 151 in WC - Our Masterminds group will be hosting a networking Quizzo Night on 3/27 at 6 pm. With some of us braving the icy elements to be in-person and others joining virtually via Zoom this mornings meeting was no less engaging by going hybrid! Today was group discussion day where members share any challenges they are having so we can mastermind some (hopefully helpful) ideas for them to consider. The challenges we focused on were: 1) how to deal with external vendor reps who have a different sales style than we do 2) what to do if a client doesn’t pay on time and how to put systems in place to mitigate that from happening in the future 3) the best way to handle a monetary or other disagreement between you and another local contractor We then shared lots of LOVE for each other for all of the amazing 1-2-1s we had, referrals we gave and introductions we made! Next week we have two presentations: Dave Arnold, MBA and Amanda Capoferri. You won’t want to miss either! ——— Kristin Aldridge, MBA Michelle Power, Esq.
