Our wonderful team members from Element Care attended the National PACE Annual Conference, held in San Diego, CA, October 13-16, 2024! This year’s keynote speaker was bestselling author, Mitch Albom who has sold more than 40 million copies of his memoir “Tuesdays with Morrie”. Element Care has collaborated with #2lifecommunities and #YWCAofnewburyport to enhance the lives of seniors and merge healthcare and home. There are 163 PACE organizations in the United States making a difference. Thank you to all team members : physicians, nurses, social workers, behavioral health therapists, activity specialists, personal care attendants, PT & OT, drivers, medical receptionist, I.T., medical records department, fiscal department, ALL… who make these organizations run effectively. #purposefulliving #seniorlife #NPA2024

PACE (Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) is an alternative to nursing home care that - through an interdisciplinary team (IDT) of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, therapists, transportation coordinators and providers and aides - coordinates and provides preventive, primary, acute, and long-term care services, so older individuals and individuals with disabilities can continue living in the community. MassPACE is a 501c(6) association whose mission is, through advocacy, education, and policy research, to provide leadership and support for growth, access, quality, and success of PACE in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

A thoughtful and relevant keynote this morning by Mitch Albom, author of “Tuesdays with Morrie,” at National PACE? Association’s 2024 Annual Meeting in San Diego. Mitch inspired us with Morrie’s message that “Giving is Living.” In our lives and in our work through PACE we should always remember to cherish our older adults for their wisdom and experience, honoring them by giving our time and talents.

Today marks the end of National PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) Month, a special time to celebrate the profound impact PACE has on the lives of our participants and their families. Throughout the month, Upham's PACE hosted several exciting events, including visits from Emily Shea (Boston's Age Strong Commissioner), Tuft's musical group Public Harmony, and the Disco group LadyBos. In addition, we are proud to announce that PACE received a proclamation from Governor Healey and Lt. Governor Driscoll declaring September 2024 to be PACE month across Massachusetts! Thank you to all who make PACE a place where our participants feel valued, cared for, and at home.
