After graduating from high school in 2011, Rachel hadn’t set foot in a classroom for over a decade. But thirteen years later, she decided to make a bold career change and enrolled in the ETeam Machinist Program at Lynn Vocational Technical Institute. With hard work, determination, and a leap of faith, she graduated and is now making history as one of the first female machinists at American Power Services! Rachel’s story is a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to pursue new goals and break barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields. Her journey is an inspiration to all who are considering a career change or entering the skilled trades. Congratulations, Rachel! ??♀???

Workforce Training Fund Program grants awarded in 2024 are a key component of the Healey-Driscoll Administration’s strategy to strengthen and grow Massachusetts' workforce. These grants will provide critical training in areas such as ESOL, project management, software/IT, and machine setup and operation. With this investment, 6,600 workers are expected to receive skills training directly in the workplace, and employers anticipate adding over 1,400 new jobs across the state within the next two years.
