Progress is evident at the Great Wolf Lodge at Foxwoods Resort Casino. The port cochere is up and exterior painting has begun. We are inspecting the firestopping across larger areas of the hotel and will soon be inspecting again in the bunker of the water park where VeriCon Lead Inspector David Goodfellow can be seen checking out some of the water pumps and the maze of schedule 80 CPVC.

We are thrilled to announce the U.S. DOT Volpe National Transportation Systems Center #LEEDPlatinum certification. To meet the stringent energy targets set forth by the GSA, Atelier Ten and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) pushed the project beyond typical high-performance design. The team optimized the building envelope to reduce loads and improve daylight, advocated for electrification as much as possible, and integrated responsible water management. Through carefully implemented sustainability strategies, the U.S. Department of Transportation #VolpeCenter Headquarters?achieves a 41% regulated energy savings, a 57% reduction in fossil fuel generated energy use, a 60% reduction in incident solar radiation and up to 15,000 gallons of water savings. The ceremonial ribbon cutting for UMass Chan Medical School's new education and research building capped nearly four years of construction on the transformational $350 million #ShawmutBuilt project—completed on time and on budget. Rising 183 feet and containing 3,295 tons of steel, 379 miles of electrical wiring, and 3,000 linear feet of lab benches, this monumental building redefines the campus and elevates Worcester onto the global stage for discovery. With sustainability at its core, the facility is set to achieve LEED Gold certification and features a geothermal system that reduces the carbon footprint by 2,400 tons annually. Now home to over 70 principal investigators and their teams, it is poised to lead groundbreaking global research and clinical trials.?

Looking back at this special moment in Ragon history — here’s what our new building at 600 Main St. looked like over 60 years ago in 1964! That empty plot of land is now home to a world-class scientific institution of researchers, clinicians, and engineers. Up until the 1980s, Kendall Square was mostly an industrial district, with many locations decaying or shuttering as manufacturing and industry in the area moved away. In the 1990s and early 2000s, companies began to build offices and retail spaces in the area, and it soon transformed into the bustling hub of research and technology that we know today. Kendall Square has been called "the most innovative square mile on the planet", and we are excited to continue contributing to its reputation for excellence and achievement. On Saturday, August 24th, our crew working at Yale New Haven Health’s St Raphael Campus rigged and installed two pre-fabricated equipment skids that will become the entirety of the hydronic heating equipment plant for the new McGivney and Sherman Buildings being built on the campus. The installation represents the completion of a year-long effort by our VDC, operations, engineering, and fabrication teams. The first skid includes 3 shell and tube heat exchangers, 2 steam control valve stations, complete condensate return piping, and a condensate receiver pump. The second skid holds 4 heating hot water pumps, 2 air separators, 2 expansions tanks, and is fully spring isolated to the building structure. Both skids have been designed and fabricated upfront with Professional Engineer’s stamp to be compliant with all structural, vibration isolation, thermal expansion, and seismic engineering requirements. In doing so, our team has shifted 4-6 months of work off of the project site to meet the demands of this fast-moving project, all while keeping resources to a minimum onsite, reducing material handling, material waste and safety concerns. ?
