MAIA's Agency Launch Program was created as a development and training opportunity for "new agencies" in the independent insurance industry. This program is a two-year commitment between MAIA and the new agency designed to expose the Principal agent and select staff to resources and necessary education to establish a foundation for success. The new agency is granted sub-agent access to personal lines markets with sponsoring carriers to mark milestones in the program. These personal lines' carriers help support the agency by providing access to auto and home markets and sponsoring program costs. Coming to the end of my time serving on the MAIA Board of Directors. Ten years is a long time, but I have truly enjoyed every mintue of giving back to the industry that has given so much to me, and made many life long friends along the way. The panel engaged in open and insightful discussions with the group on various legislative initiatives affecting the insurance industry, including updating the state’s minimum limits, opposing rebates, and other modernization efforts.
