关于我们

Founded in March of 1983, the Massachusetts Sheriffs’ Association (MSA) supports, promotes, and advocates for each of the 14 Sheriffs' Offices in the Commonwealth. The MSA facilitates cooperative and collaborative relationships among the Sheriffs for the purpose of developing standardized training, reporting, providing governance over shared projects, discussing operational best practices, and providing research and data on matters of mutual interest and concern. The MSA improves public safety by promoting greater understanding of issues impacting the Massachusetts Sheriffs and by bringing together law enforcement and criminal justice professionals. https://www.mass.gov/orgs/massachusetts-sheriffs-association

  • Great work by the Norfolk County Sheriff's Office! Learn more about their free "Are you OK" program: https://lnkd.in/eiAAm5yY

The simple question “Are you OK?” resulted in a big save for the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday. “Are you OK?” is a free program run by the sheriff’s office that offers calls to residents of Norfolk County who live alone and could use a check-in related to their health or well-being. During Thursday morning’s calls, an 80-year-old woman from Canton did not answer when Officer Cheryl Bambery from the sheriff’s office called to check-in. Officer Bambery tried to reach her several more times after that, and on the fourth call the woman answered. Officer Bambery asked her “Are you OK?” and the woman said she had previously fallen while coming down some stairs. “I am on the ground, and I cannot get up. I don’t think I hit my head, but I hurt my shoulder,” she said. Officer Bambery stayed on the phone with her and called police in Canton to get help to her. The woman was then taken to the hospital to get some care. Thank you Officer Bambery for your quick action and compassion! The “Are You OK?” program is free and is provided Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, for seniors and people with disabilities. Please reach out to Norfolk County Sheriff Patrick McDermott’s office if you or someone you know might be interested in receiving what could be a lifesaving call.
