This #WomensHistoryMonth, we’re turning advocacy into action here at the #MCSW. Read this month's featured guest piece from MCSW Commissioner Allison Goldberg, a local business owner passionate about financial literacy. The 2025 campaign theme for International Women’s Day 3/8/2025 is ‘Accelerate Action.’ "In step with that idea, I urge each one of us to accelerate action and take hold of our financial futures. The wheels of gender parity move forward, if slowly. So, let’s advocate for ourselves and our futures: personal finance education is a good place to begin. Together, let’s Accelerate Action to speed up the rate of progress worldwide – starting right here in Massachusetts," said Commissioner Goldberg. The residents of Roxbury gave Melnea the nickname the "First Lady of Roxbury" for her years of dedication to the people of Roxbury. We remember all the amazing work she did for her community within education equity, economic development, and racial equity in the Black community. #BlackHistoryMonth #womeninhistory
