Harvard/Stanford Medical AI Bootcamp What is the Medical AI Bootcamp? An educational program for closely mentored research at the intersection of AI and Medicine, hosted virtually at the Rajpurkar lab. Prof. Pranav Rajpurkar is the director of the Medical AI Bootcamp, and directly mentors each project in the bootcamp. Who can participate in the Medical AI Bootcamp? The bootcamp is open to students at Harvard & Stanford, and to medical doctors around the world. What are the two specializations in the Medical AI Bootcamp? The two specializations are the AI Specialization, open to students at Stanford/Harvard, and the Medicine Specialization, open to medical doctors globally. What are the requirements for the AI Specialization? Candidates for the AI Specialization should have practical machine learning knowledge and the ability to code in Python. Undergraduates and graduate students are expected to sign up for research credits for two semesters or quarters. A grade of A or better in these courses is typically expected. The interview will test the candidate's ability to comfortably write Python programs. Who is eligible for the Medicine Specialization? The Medicine Specialization is open to medical doctors who have already received an MD or equivalent. In the upcoming round, there is a particular interest in specialists in radiology. Candidates from around the world are welcome in the medicine specialization. ?? We are thrilled to share that work was featured in The New York Times this weekend!??? The article spotlights our collaboration with Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health's Dr. Laura Marciano on her innovative research exploring the impact of technology on loneliness. This study stood out for its?novel methodological approach?(which S2P helped to craft) and?commitment to recruiting a diverse range of participants, ensuring that a wide spectrum of user experiences was represented. We were thrilled to support this project by developing a strategic communications plan and collaborating closely with the select group of social media creators aiding recruitment. By leveraging their unique social media presence, we were able to craft?simple,?innovative, and?inclusive content?to effectively engage various subsets of teens and adults across the country, fostering authentic connections that enhanced participant recruitment. Our approach included strategy sessions with these creators, focusing on crafting clear and accessible messaging tailored for different audiences, from teenagers to parents and educators. This meticulous planning allowed us to break down complex scientific concepts into relatable content, making it easier for the creator's community to understand the importance of the research and their potential role in it. This type of work is central to our mission at Science To People, where we aim to?"help institutions and messengers who communicate science do it better."?By facilitating clearer, more inclusive communication strategies, we’re helping to ensure that scientific research is accessible to all and that diverse perspectives are represented in studies—an area where representation has historically been lacking.
