MAHA was so proud to celebrate the launch of ONE+ on Monday! ONE+ will bring deeply discounted mortgage rates coupled with downpayment assistance to renters in the Gateway Cities, Framingham, and Randolph. We launched this program in 2020 in Boston and we’re happy it is now available to more homebuyers across the state. This initiative is an incredible show of collaboration between the public and private sectors to create more access to affordable homeownership in MA. We will continue our organizing and advocacy to ensure it remains available to everyone who needs it. And of course Office of Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey and Kim Driscoll for Lieutenant Governor with the Executive Office of Housing and Liveable Communities. This year, 125 STASH: First-Gen Home graduates purchased homes all over Massachusetts putting their $20,000 matching grant to good use, plus dozens more in the process of closing! Since the beginning of the program in 2019, over 200 first-generation homebuyers have been able to begin building generational wealth for their families. MAHA will continue working for this support to be available for first-gen homebuyers across the state. We are so excited to be able to capture how many MAHA graduates are buying homes! In 2023, 664 graduates of our classes bought their home. So far this year, 489 graduates bought homes across the state! MAHA's first-time homebuyer classes, one-on-one counseling, and access to programs like STASH and the ONE Mortgage program make a difference. Monday was a big night for MAHA! We had our Annual Meeting where our staff, board, funders, donors, graduates, and partners envisioned the future of the organization and the state of homeownership. We announced our Strategic Plan that will take us into 2029 (stay tuned for more about that!). And last but certainly not least, we unveiled our new name and logo that we were able to share with you all yesterday. In many ways, this feels like a new beginning for MAHA. We're energized and ready to keep working to increase access to affordable, sustainable homeownership.
