Mascari Dinh Architects is excited to attend the Groundbreaking event of the new 5-story, 105,000-square foot Loma Linda University Children’s Health Specialty Clinics. The facility will house 20 specialized pediatric clinics, with 150 exam rooms and various support services, all designed to meet OSHPD-3 standards and be under the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital license. A flexible design approach allows for future adaptability, enabling clinics to be phased in and out of the building as needed. The facility will also provide centralized operations, offering imaging and laboratory services to support patient care. The project’s design concept, “A Tree Planted by the Water,” draws inspiration from the faith-based mission of the hospital. A prominent tree near the main entrance, along with a stream-like paving pattern, symbolizes the theme of life and hope. This theme extends into the interior, where playful, nature-inspired elements such as colorful fruits, insects, birds, and other wildlife are featured on each floor, creating a welcoming, child-centered atmosphere. The building’s exterior design is contemporary yet thoughtfully integrated with the campus’s existing architecture. It incorporates selective use of colorful vertical glass, which echoes elements found in the existing Children’s Hospital. The project is slated for completion in the fall of 2026. #groundbreaking #lluch
