Yesterday, I had a tremendous opportunity to present at MASA-Dearborn’s Critical Design Review (CDR) for the fifth time! I vividly remember my very first presentation in 2021—as a new member, filled with butterflies and pressure. But I leaned on the advice my leads shared and the hours of preparation we put in behind the scenes. That support gave me the confidence to share my ideas and embrace the feedback that came my way. Standing there yesterday, I felt immense pride watching how far we’ve come—not just in our technical abilities, but in how tightly knit and motivated we’ve become as a team. It’s surreal to think how I once looked up to the presenters, and now I stand beside a new generation of passionate, driven students. I can’t wait to watch Vulcan soar through the skies this June in Midland, Texas. But more than that, I’m excited to see the team grow, push boundaries, and stay united for the skies in our pursuit of excellence with MASA-Dearborn Rocketry Team!

We recently had the opportunity to present at our Critical Design Review (CDR) alongside our electrical and mechanical teammates, and I couldn’t be prouder of our team! Seeing everyone's hard work come together was an incredible experience, and it was great to showcase how our software integrates with the rest of the system. The stress leading up to it was definitely there, but in the end, it was an exciting and rewarding experience. Thank you to everyone who attended and for the amazing feedback! This past Thursday, I had the opportunity to present at MASA-Dearborn Rocketry Team's Critical Design Review (CDR), where I covered the latest developments in our team's radio telemetry system for 2025! As the team member primarily responsible for the radio telemetry system this year, I presented what I have been working on to ensure we are ready to stream video and sensor data at 10,000ft. This included: - Antenna tuning and testing with a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) - Integration with CAN via Linux's SocketCAN, enabling live sensor data transmission to our ground station - Validated line-of-sight signal strength calculations to guarantee reliable communication - The use of a circularly polarized antenna to ensure signal strength independent of the rocket antenna's orientation It was an amazing presentation that showcased the collective dedication of our team. I look forward to working with everyone as we prepare for our upcoming test launch, and the competition in Midland, Texas this year! #UMDearborn #MASADearborn #rocketry #RF
