We are beyond proud of our beloved volunteer, Michael Philipp, who recently won second place in the annual Art and Writing Contest sponsored by the Daily Herald and District 214. He submitted his personal story into a written version for the prose writing competition and won. Watch out for his piece to be published in the Daily Herald next month. Mike's dedication and passion not only shine through in his volunteer work at Maryville Crisis Nursery but also in his creative talents. On Fat Tuesday, one of our programs, St. Dominic Savion Home, celebrated the festive occasion by transforming its dining area into a cheerful, Mardi Gras-themed space with balloons and vibrant decorations. Everyone was excited as they gathered to indulge in delicious paczkis - traditional Polish pastries filled with sweet jam or cream. What a great way to mark the last day of indulgence before the start of Lent, with everyone enjoying the treats and festive spirit. The staff and children from the Maryville Youth Center were excited to receive a special invitation to the?Chicago Sports Network’s pregame show at the United Center last Friday. Every little moment counts! Last Friday, this sweet little girl and her doll had a special day at the Maryville Crisis Nursery. She told our fantastic staff that she wanted her "baby" to join her while eating; of course, they couldn’t say no!
