#ReinvestBaltimore In order for it to be Maryland's decade, it has to be Baltimore's time. In partnership with Baltimore City and nonprofit partners, we're eliminating concentrations of vacant properties, revitalizing neighborhoods and maximizing the economic potential and quality of life for residents in Baltimore City! Through the Baltimore Vacants Reinvestment Initiative, the State of Maryland provided a "first in" subsidy of $1 million for stabilization of 38 vacant properties and funded the creation of four green spaces in Baltimore's Upton neighborhood! On Friday, DHCD Secretary Jake Day joined Gov. Wes Moore and local public officials as the governor toured downtown Rising Sun in Cecil County. As part of DHCD’s mission to serve as a catalyst for economic growth for Maryland, the department awarded $50,000 in State Revitalization Program funding to the town in December to assist several local businesses with facade improvements.
