This week, the Southern Maryland Minority Chamber of Commerce (SMMCOC), in collaboration with the Maryland APEX Accelerator, celebrated the first in-person session of our four-month Government Contracting Capstone Program—and what a success it was! Held in Southern Maryland and hosted by Pamela Minor, President and CEO of SMMCOC, this session brought together an incredible cohort of small business owners and entrepreneurs who are ready to elevate their Federal marketplace efforts. Did you know that $19.5 million in SBIR funding is going largely unclaimed??More than half of the MD SBIR awards allow optional supplemental funds for?“Technical and Business Assistance” efforts or?TABA.?These funds are designated to cover things like regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, and other legal and business issues more related to commercial applications than technical development.
