We're celebrating #MarchMadness by highlighting the Maryland Stadium Authority's (MSA) projects at area universities over the years. University of Maryland at College Park (UMCP) Comcast Center In October 2002, MSA successfully completed the design and construction of what was known then as the Comcast Center, now the Xfinity Center, located on the North Field area of the University's campus adjacent to the intramural athletic fields. The project included a 17,900 seat basketball facility and replaced the activities formerly housed in Cole Field House. The Center features a 7,000 square foot Academic Support and Career Development Center, a student activity center, accommodation facilities for 25 different sports and incorporates a well-equipped training facility.
