Exciting Event Recap: PwC Leadership Visit ? Last week, we were thrilled to welcome Jennifer Kennedy, Chief Operating Officer of Tax at PwC, to Smith School of Business! ? Her visit was an incredible opportunity for students and faculty alike. Jennifer had the chance to meet with our dean, Prabhudev Konana, visit several undergraduate accounting courses, and engage with our student leaders. A major highlight was the meaningful discussions around diversity in talent acquisition, led by PwC's Talent Acquisition Inclusion Strategy Leader, Katie Patel, where she shared invaluable insights on fostering inclusivity in the workforce. ? The leadership chat with student leaders was another standout moment, with Jennifer offering career advice and leadership perspectives to our future business leaders. To end off the day, they hosted a wonderful dinner reception that allowed for deeper connections and conversations between Jennifer and Smith’s brightest students. ? A big thank you to Joseph Deluna, M.A., Sam Stappler,?and Michael Hoffman?from PwC and Luke Dieguez?and Juan Henry, M.Ed. from the OCS for ensuring that everything went smoothly and made this memorable day a success! ? Exciting Event Recap: SUSA x QUEST x Guidehouse Smith Explore Last Friday, the QUEST Honors Program at UMD and the Smith Undergraduate Student Association (SUSA) collaborated to take Smith and QUEST students to the Guidehouse Headquarters for an enriching Smith Explore. Students had the opportunity to network, listen to a panel discussion, and participate in an engaging case workshop. It was a fantastic day, filled with valuable insights into the consulting industry! Special thanks to Joel Liebman (QUEST Alum), Samantha Calvano, Zachary Jacobs, Sophie Romanik, PMP, and Marleigh W. for spending the day with us and planning such a thoughtful and engaging event! Spring Undergraduate Career Fair Recap Last Friday, February 7th, we had the pleasure of hosting the Smith Undergraduate Career Fair! ?? The event was a huge success, with a fantastic turnout from both employers and students. The atmosphere at the Samuel V. Riggs Alumni Center was buzzing with energy as students networked, explored new opportunities, and engaged in valuable conversations with recruiters. Here are some highlights from the event: ? 595 students and alumni in attendance ? 53 companies represented ? 155 employer representatives (a big thank you to everyone who joined us!) ?? 73 UMD alumni reps ? 3,000+ views on the OCS Employer Conversations Reel A special thank you to Courtney Bigger, Luke Dieguez, and the entire OCS team for their hard work and dedication in making this event run smoothly!
