Enhancing access, building communities …
MDOT is now accepting FY25 applications for its new $5M Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Capital Grant and Revolving Loan Fund! Local jurisdictions and development partners can apply for funding for projects that advance mixed-use development around State-Designated TOD Stations, including design planning and public infrastructure improvements. Through $350 million in bond financing, MEDCO is helping the University of Maryland move closer to its sustainability goals with the NextGen Energy Project. This innovative project will transform UMD’s College Park campus by constructing, acquiring, improving and operating certain heating, cooling, electric distribution and generation facilities. The program is set to cut greenhouse gas emissions, save water usage, and increase overall efficiency and sustainability. MEDCO is proud to celebrate the success of 14 Maryland-based small businesses that have been awarded contracts under the GSA Polaris Governmentwide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) Small Business Pool. These businesses will provide IT solutions to federal agencies, reinforcing Maryland’s leadership in technology, cybersecurity, and software development. Congratulations to the awarded businesses! With additional awards expected in FY 2025 for women-owned, HUBZone, and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses, Maryland’s federal contracting opportunities continue to grow.

Economic growth works best when it works for everyone! In FY24, MEDCO invested over $58 million in Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) to empower diverse entrepreneurs and foster equitable growth. Part of this funding supported goods and services from MBE, WBE, SBE, and DBE businesses across ten development projects, reinforcing our commitment to inclusive economic development across Maryland.
